CAM135

Vintage camera app for Android · Google Play

The vintage camera app Android was missing.

Most film camera apps ship on iPhone first and reach Android late, or never. CAM135 ships on Google Play the same day as the App Store, with the same 11 films, 23 cameras and $19.99 price.

03Built for Android cameras

Every Android phone has a different camera. Film hides it.

A flagship and a mid-range phone start from different sensors. Once Kodak Gold's colour, a Holga's soft corners and a field of grain are over the picture, the difference between them is the least interesting thing in the frame.

CAM135 uses Android’s own camera framework, so it works with the camera your phone shipped with rather than a list of supported models. Stills use the full sensor. Video records at 1080p, then goes through the camcorder you loaded. Everything is computed on the phone; a photo never leaves it to be made to look like film.

Questions

The short answers.

Which Android phones does CAM135 run on?
Android 7.0 (API 24) or later, which covers nearly every phone sold in the last several years. The film is computed on the phone, so a faster phone renders a photo sooner, but the picture comes out the same.
Is it really on Google Play, not an APK?
Yes. CAM135 is published on Google Play under our own developer account and signed by Play. We do not distribute an APK anywhere else, and anything claiming to be one is not ours.
Is Dazz Cam on Android?
Dazz Cam's App Store listing is iPhone and iPad only, and the Android search results for it are mostly look-alikes and APK mirrors. CAM135 is the vintage camera that is actually on Google Play. There is a full comparison on the Dazz Cam page.
Does the free tier work on Android?
Yes, the same three films (Portra 400, CineStill 800T, Tri-X) and three cameras (Lomo LC-A, Holga 120N, Rolleiflex 2.8F), with no card and no watermark.
Does it need Google Sign-In?
Only for the optional cloud backup and the AI photo editor, which need an account to hold your credits. Shooting film, the dial, the frames and the batch filter work without signing in to anything.
